SuperHero camp cancelled no Permit Camp
Hello Scouts and Parents,
I removed the details about the SuperHero camp from the blog since we will not be attending that camp. In doing so an email was sent out about a Permit Camp we had in 2015. Please disregard that email. Sorry for the confusion.

Algonquin!!
I apologize for the extreme lateness of this info. I’ve been having some difficulty budgeting this
excursion. As it stands, the cost per
camper is $180 and our fundraising gives us $80 each, leaving a total of $100 outstanding
each.
The plan is as follows:
- July 14 8:00 AM – Meet in the church parking lot
- 8:30AM – On the road! -There are enough seats (just!) in the leader vehicles for everyone. I will be towing the trailer for all personal gear.
- Fun and adventure happens next
- July 18 4:00 PM – return to the church
A few more details:
We need every scout to bring their health card – the leaders will hold
them. We also need a consent form signed for
each scout.
I am holding informal info sessions for scouts and parents
to discuss any issues anyone may have. These
will be at my house (3 Mac Donald Place).
I know most scouts have other things going on, so drop in on Tuesday,
Wednesday or Thursday this week any time after 7. This is a good time to sign forms and drop
off payment.

Derby cars --- NO build night on June 30!
We are close to finishing our soap box derby cars so we should look at scheduling race day!
I'm thinking Saturday July 30? Please provide feedback on this date.

Canoe camp
Annual Townsend Canoe camp is June 10 to 12.
The fee is $40 which includes the full day of instruction by certified canoists. Details to follow.

Cost: $10 which includes insurance and a club crest
We only have room for 8 scouts. Those eight will be selected at our Thursday meeting.
Permission forms will be handed out at this week's meeting, May 12th that need to be signed.
We will be meeting at the range on May 18th. If you are sending a scout with another, please make sure we have a signed permission form. Scouts without a signed form will not be allowed to shoot.
Also, please where your uniform.

Spring Camp April 15-17
We have a spring camp and hike

We are in a lodge for this camp! You still need sleeping bags and mess kits, though.
The plan is to arrive Friday evening, the Saturday after breakfast go for a hike along the Bruce trail out to Rattlesnake Point and back.
This is a challenging hike; about 20km. Make sure you have footwear appropriate for the trek!!

Swimming on Tuesday Feb 2; no meeting Feb 4
Scouts are going swimming on Tuesday instead of meeting on Thursday. Meet at the church at 6:15pm, and we are carpooling to the Gretzky Center. We will need drivers if you are available! We are targeting to get back at 9:00 pm (so 9:15??)
